With the 'Make Tomorrow Possible Today' initiative, Microsoft wants to make an active contribution to creating a positive climate for digitalisation and cloud use in Austria. Using practical examples from Austrian companies, the opportunities and benefits of cloud technology are to be made tangible to business leaders and those responsible in politics, science and administration. msg Plaut supports this initiative as a cooperation partner in order to help better equip Austria as a business location for the high pressure of competition and innovation.
This requires a high-quality and secure digital infrastructure as well as the know-how to effectively use the constantly growing and increasingly networked treasure trove of data in the cloud. Those who know about these possibilities and can use them to their best advantage create a good basis for economic success and can open up cooperative data spaces for innovations, further research and development.
In the current DESI-Ranking 2021, the annual digitisation index of the EU Commission, Austria has moved back into the top 10, but there is still room for improvement in some areas.
"We are among the EU leaders in terms of public services, but the level of digitalisation is unfortunately still very much in need of improvement in some aspects that are also important for the business location in an EU comparison: For example, only 20 percent of all companies in Austria use cloud computing services, compared to an EU average of 26 percent. So there is still a lot to do to create better framework conditions for technological change and a greater awareness of its positive potential. That is why we are happy to take part in this initiative in order to strengthen Austria as a business location - after all, cooperation and networking are virtually emblematic of digitalisation and technological progress," says Georg Krause, Managing Director of msg Plaut Austria GmbH and Member of the Management Board of msg Plaut AG.
